BIO
With delicacy and charm, spirit and ambition country recording artist Rachel Louise Taylor’s genuine lively sound reflects her roots from the heart of Kansas. With the flexibility to transcend genres, Taylor, along with her latest single release, “Drive by Town”, continues to make a memorable mark on the Music Industry.
Growing up in a musical family, Taylor’s musical memories began early, dancing and singing along to her favorite tv shows and movies. As her obsession didn’t end there, she began taking guitar lessons at the early age of 7-years-old. At the age of 10, she began performing in front of audiences, and coffee shops in her hometown. It wasn’t long before local businesses and organizations recognized Taylor’s talents, including her in their annual events. She soon began performing at Topeka Roadrunner hockey games and graduations among others.
Booking with local venues, festivals, events and fairs, Taylor connected with other artists in the Kansas music industry, opening doors to other musical opportunities. Starting off strong from the beginning, in October of 2013, Taylor opened for the Grammy nominated songwriter, Sally Barris. In high school, she released 4 EP albums, of all originally composed songs, showcasing her progressive talent in the songwriting profession.
It wasn’t until the first week of her college career that her fall 2016 single release “In Your ‘85” was featured on national and international country radio. The single topped the Ullplay music chart in the U.K. for three consecutive months. Following this success, Taylor took part in the Be Ready Entrepreneur Competition with Washburn University, pitching her music as a business, and taking home first place and a $2,500 scholarship. Just turning 19 years old, NSAI member Rachel Louise Taylor is set to release her first full length album in August of 2017.
