BIO
Matthew Shoaf has been a professional musician for 20 years playing in numerous projects, ensembles, and bands of all styles of music in Kansas City and around the country. A graduate of The Conservatory of Music at UMKC, he currently has several regular gigs around the metro playing anywhere from 4-7 nights a week in a variety of venues and with some of KC's best musicians. His band that he fronted on lead guitar and vocals, Gov't Cheez, held a weekly residence on the Country Club Plaza for over fourteen years. Matthew also plays bass for the semi-local Irish band, Flannigan's Right Hook. Currently he also plays with KCFLO, The Diamond Empire Band, and you can catch him at Nara on Wednesday’s and First Friday’s as a solo, one-man-band act on acoustic guitar/vocals with live looping improvisations. He takes requests from a long list of songs that aims to please the crowd and promises that whatever your preference or mood, he has a song that will speak to you.
